There are three simple essentials to make Mom really happy on Mother’s Day (or any day). As a mom of a three-and-a-half year old ball of boy energy, I know if I get just one of these little gifts I’ll be a happy mama!
My three-year old has picked up the phrase, “that is my favorite and my best” and uses it with a gravity that only someone her age can pull off. Strawberry ice cream, white cats and her sparkly tutu have all recently earned her accolades. As a grocery store that’s in the business of selling the highest quality foods we can find at the most competitive prices possible, our search for quality is a never-ending process. So it’s fair to say that we have a lot of “favorites” and “bests” on every aisle and make it our job to bring in more each month.
Every month, we are pleased to add many new products to our shelves that have passed the testing and tasting and met our strict Quality Standards. (That means they’re free of hydrogenated fats and artificial preservatives, colors and flavors - wahoo!) And each month, we choose a dozen or so to call to your attention. Here are a handful of new products — or new varieties of old favorites — that we think you'll especially enjoy.
Did you know that the sweet potato is not actually a potato? While they are distantly related, potatoes are tubers and sweet potatoes are roots. In addition to the name, the sweet potato is a study in contrasts.
Once the weather starts getting colder here in Austin — and by cold, I mean 60 degrees — nothing makes me feel as seasonally appropriate as a mug full of Chai tea. Warm spices like nutmeg and cardamom are just about all I need to channel Rosemary Clooney while living in such a warm locale.
This year is our first Christmas at home, and we’re excited to start our own family traditions with our three-year old... and he’s excited about cookies for Santa!
Sure, there are baking sheets full of cookie recipes for you to tackle. But if you enjoy eating cookies more than you enjoy baking them, this store-bought solution will still please Santa (and all his little helpers): 365 Everyday Value ® Holiday Cookies in festive once-a-year flavors.

There’s lots of talk about turkey leftovers but what about that leftover stuffing or cranberry sauce? Here are some easy ways to use them up. In fact, I suggest buying extras of these Thanksgiving pantry staples because these recipes are delicious any time of year.

I find myself cooking with olive oil practically on a daily basis. There are many recipes that call for it and just as many where olive oil can be used as a substitute for highly refined vegetable oils.
Trick or Treat!
Confession time. There may have been times in my life when I’ve relied on frozen food to feed everyone from me to my family to a whole party of people. I may also have sprinkled it with parsley and called it homemade.
Earthy flavors. Knobby sweaters. Rustic textures. Comfy socks. Steamy soups. This is what I love about October. If you’re ready to get all warm and cozy, too – from a hearty, nutty breakfast, to fall bread baking, to a dollop of something sweet on still-warm pie – then we have some delicious new items that you must try.
UPDATE: Thank you to everyone who entered! Congratulations to our winner Robyn W. from Wisconsin! At Whole Foods Market®, we love sharing good food and drink.
At Whole Foods Market®, we love sharing good food and drink. Whether it’s a peak-of-the-season berry, a team member creation from our bakery, sausages made in house or a new grocery discovery, we love celebrating great flavors and products. It might be mid-August, but it’s still time for Late July! Late July Organic Snacks is on a mission to educate people about organics through their taste buds. As a family owned and operated company, they care deeply about the integrity of their products – which all proudly wear the USDA organic seal! This means they meet USDA National Organic Standards requiring that the crops are grown without the use of persistent pesticides. Those standards also don't allow irradiation, genetically modified ingredients (GMOs) and synthetic preservatives.
School may be out for summer but rest assured, we’re still doing our homework to offer great-tasting natural and organic products that meet our shoppers’ needs. Like all products on our shelves, these new offerings are free of hydrogenated fats and artificial preservatives, colors and flavors, meaning you get all the summer flavors you want and none of the junk you don’t.
Our grocery team works hard to bring great-tasting natural and organic products to our stores that meet our shoppers’ needs.
Admittedly one of the best things about working at Whole Foods Market is being able to taste your way through these innovative products. I have happily played hooky from my to-do list for a taste of chips and dips, gluten-free cereals and decadent desserts. (Does it still count as a taste if you go back for seconds and thirds?)
We love our producers, suppliers and vendors and we think most of them have some pretty interesting stories behind their products too. We’re sharing some of our favorites here in an ongoing series.

Every product has a story, and Brad’s Raw Chips is a classic tale of success! Over four years ago, founder and creator, Brad Gruno discovered the health benefits of eating raw. He lost over 40 pounds and enjoyed a level of energy he hadn’t experienced in many years.

You wouldn’t think there’d be much opportunity for a better choice when it comes to something as simple as mustard, and for the most part, there isn’t…unless you care whether the mustard seed it’s made from was sprayed with toxic and persistent pesticides or herbicides and whether some of those chemicals may have ended up in the
Trick or Treat! To many of us, those words are terrifying. Not because of the all those ghosts and goblins wandering around. It’s because of the shocking amount of candy in our midst. All those horrifyingly unnatural artificial colors and flavors and all those preservatives better suited for a mummy than a mommy. Eeeeekkk!

I get to see a lot of cool products in my job. One of the coolest products we are currently carrying at Whole Foods Market is Siggi's Skyr. Not only is it a great yogurt but the back story is awesome.
