Can a calendar change a life? When it’s the Whole Planet Foundation® calendar, you bet it can! Available in our stores now, the 2013 calendar features over $40 in savings from over 25 different suppliers; a list of the coupons is on the Whole Planet Foundation’s website.
How is this life changing? Because 100% of the money from calendar sales goes directly toward providing microlending support in more than 50 countries around the world. With images captured by Whole Planet Foundation team members working in the field and our partners from all over the world, this year’s calendar features beautiful photos of the very people supported by these loans in places like Bolivia, India, Indonesia, Mexico, Morocco, Peru, Rwanda, Samoa, Senegal, Thailand, the United States and Vietnam.
These microentrepreneurs use their microloans to start or expand their businesses in small-scale farming, neighborhood shops and textiles. Aichetou, a client of Whole Planet Foundation’s partner CAURIE Microfinance, used her loan to finance her beauty salon in her village in Senegal.
At only $3 each, these calendars make great gifts and stocking stuffers, or you can buy a few for yourself, for your home and office. Thanks to sponsorships from Whole Foods Market®’s supplier partners, all of the proceeds from calendar sales support microlending.
Last year, shoppers like you raised $143,000 through calendar sales. Given the fact that the average amount of a first microloan is $164 in the developing world, your support last year funded 872 loans and provided the opportunity for over 5,100 people around the world to change their own lives.
