I love Vidalia onions. Always have. Who knew all these years I've been pronouncing it wrong??? I knew they only grew in Vidalia County, Georgia, and one can only assume they know the correct pronunciation. You learn something new every day. Oh, and that onion and cheese sandwich he talked about at the end? I have to have one of those!

Vidalia is a city in Toombs County, GA. The onions are named after the city and not the county of origin. I am not sure but Tattnall County may also be the site for Vidalia onions to be grown. Bon appetite, Walt Ligon, M. D.

For info on Aronia Berries, go to "www.superberries.com". I'm not sure where they are grown, but I don't think it's GA.

With regard to "where" aronia berries are grown in the U.S.. we grow them within a 100 mile radius of Omaha, Nebraska. Currently we have 20,000 plants under cultivation in our operation 10 miles northwest of Omaha, and have access to nearly 100,000 plants in the region, ( most of which would be plants in the 2-3 year old category). To my knowledge, we have the most mature plants in the area, 8,500, 8 year old plants. Our production in 2010 amounted to nearly 20,000 lbs. of berries, of which 10,000 lbs. are in cold storage and for sale.
