CONGRATULATION TO OUR WINNER PATRICIA FROM ANN ARBOR, MI. THANK YOU FOR ALL YOUR GREAT COMMENTS!
We love our producers, suppliers and vendors and we think most of them have some pretty interesting stories behind their products too. We’ll be sharing some of our favorites here in an ongoing series. Read on for a chance to win a $50 gift card.
What does it take to run a creamery? If you’re Jennifer Bice, it takes lots of care, concern and meticulous attention to detail. The organic creamery behind Eros Organic Greek Yogurt, is operated 100% on solar power from two acres of solar panels. Running on these solar panels is “equal to taking 76 cars off the road, planting 110 trees or powering over 50 homes, “ Bice says. “Creameries use tremendous amounts of energy so we’re constantly looking at new ways that we can deliver the product in a more sustainable fashion.” In addition to solar energy, the creamery uses motion-sensored lights that only come on when needed in order to minimize lighting usage, has electric car charging stations (also operated by solar power) and a computer-operated water system that measures the exact amount of water needed to clean their operational equipment.
The same consciousness applies not only to the creamery, but also to their relationship with Diamond W Dairy, their award-winning dairy producer. Using one dairy to provide all of the milk for Eros yogurt means that they can save in transportation resources as well as get fresh, high-quality milk to the creamery faster. “We really wanted the best and most high quality milk, so we’ve formed a partnership with the Diamond W Dairy because they have one of the best dairies in Sonoma County,” says Bice. Brothers Ron and Ken Wilson run the dairy, which provides organic milk from 600 cows to supply all of the milk that goes into Eros Yogurt.
The Wilson brothers are the third generation of their family to run their farm and they’re known for the care with which they treat their cows. “We want to make sure the animals are taken care of; I think it just tastes better in the end product.” says Bice. “Eros Organic Greek Yogurt is exclusive to Whole Foods Market, is one of the few organic Greek yogurts, and on top of that, it’s delicious!” Eros Organic Greek Yogurt is available in plain, vanilla, honey, strawberry and blueberry and is found only in our stores.
What do you think about the efforts that Eros Organic Greek Yogurt makes to conserve resources in its creamery? Watch the slideshow above and leave a comment with your answer by September 27th. One comment will be chosen at random to win a $50 gift card to our stores.
Well, they say "happy cows come from California" and I bet that these are some of the happiest cows in the whole state. I am also from California and may have to check out this farm next time I am home at my Grandfather lives in Sonoma Co. Thanks fro letting us know the whole story.

Being a skeptic, due to so much abuse and mistreatment of animals and our environment, and as a result our food source, it was good to see what appears to be an innovative and wonderful way to produce yogurt. I would like to believe, however, that those calves that you show have a right to their mothers, and are not just torn away from them, as is done in factory farming.

It's great to see a company like Eros that takes care of its employees, humans and animals alike. By Eros keeping one foot in the past with their farming practices they are able to move forward and find alternative power sources, thus reducing the carbon footprint for future generations. I applaud Eros and their initiatives. More companies should take note of their humane treatment of animals while maintaining carbon footprint reducing practices. This is definitely a company that I would support by purchasing their products. Way to go Eros!

I hate to rain on everyone's parade, but the yogurt is not Greek style at all. I'm speaking of the plain 2% as I don't eat flavored yogurts ordinarily. The goopy texture is not Greek style, which is strained. And it has a strange flavor. I won't be purchasing it again.

I have recently tried this Greek yogurt after hearing about it for a long time. It is soooo......deliscious and much prefer the flavor to regular yogurt. Plus the texture is not as runny, which I prefer. It is also a perfect substitute for sour cream and much healthier. Thanks for the effort to produce an excellent product.

I have just started eating Greek yogurt specifically for the calcium value. I was literally looking at all of the brands Whole Foods had to offer and Eros yogurt had the most calcium. I had never heard of this brand before, but the yogurt is so delicious. Extremely smooth and not sour. Especially wonderful is the work ethic you have incorporated. Thank you.

Here's the latest on the conference's top players who are projected to go from playing on Saturdays to starring on Sundays.
1. LB Jarvis Jones, 6-3, 241, Georgia
Why he has the top spot: Jones' battle with an ankle injury hasn't changed his status as the top overall draft prospect in the SEC. He missed his second full game due to the
injury in the Bulldogs' 29-24 win over Kentucky on Saturday. Still, Jones remains a versatile defender who can rush the pass or drop into coverage. He'll need a strong second
half of the season to maintain his lofty draft status.
Season stats (five games): 36 tackles, 5.5 sacks, 9.5 TFLs, 3 forced fumbles, 15 QB hurries, INT.
Player ranking: Jones remains fifth overall, and he is the second-highest outside linebacker in CBSSports.com's latest player rankings.
Up next: The Bulldogs' next game is against Florida. Jones returned to practice on Monday and is expected to play. Georgia will need him against a Florida team that averages 213
yards per game on the ground.
2. QB Tyler Wilson, 6-3, 220, Arkansas
Why he has the second spot: After a slow start for Wilson and the Razorbacks, the senior QB has turned it around in the last few weeks before having a bye last weekend. He'll
have a chance to solidify his status as a first-round pick with games against Mississippi State, LSU and South Carolina still on the schedule.
Season stats (six games): 124 of 205 (60.5 percent) for 1,957 yards, 14 TDs, 5 INTs.
Player ranking: Wilson is ranked as the No. 12 overall prospect and is the third-highest ranked QB in CBSSports.com's latest player rankings.
Up next: The Razorbacks play Ole Miss this weekend. The Rebels are ranked No. 65 nationally in scoring defense, so Wilson should have a chance to put some good numbers up.

@BEVERLY - Sorry to hear this. Were you able to ask the store why they are no longer carrying this? Unfortunately, we do not offer shipping of perishable items. It's possible that you can find an online retailer that is willing to ship.

I normally hate Greek Yogurt... I tried so many times to like it. But the texture, the smell, the taste, the after-taste, I hated it all. I bought Eros to give to my daughter and tried a taste. Oh my god, it was SOOOOO GOOD!!!!! It's a miracle, and organic, and human, and delicious. Did I say it was delicious? Thank you for making this!!! I hope you just make more flavors since I'll be buying a ton of this stuff :)
