Sneak Peek at New Stuff in Stores Now!

By Paige Brady, August 5, 2010 | Meet the Blogger | More Posts by Paige Brady
Sometimes I get into a routine: I have my shopping list, I know what I need and I go directly to those items on the shelves. I bet some of you do that too. When we do that, though, how the heck are we going to find out about new products that might be the perfect missing link to a fabulous meal? Well, I’m in a special situation. Since I work at the global office for Whole Foods Market, I get sneak peeks from our purchasing team on new and exclusive products coming up. And, as a reader of the Whole Story blog, you are in a special situation too, because I’m going to share those sneak peeks with you! Without further ado, here is some of the great new stuff you’ll find in our stores in August. (For a bonus, I included some stuff that hit the stores in July!):

Green Valley Organic Lactose Free Yogurt and Kefir – currently available only at Whole Foods Market

Organicville Pasta Sauce — organic, gluten-free sauces from a family-owned business

Jovial “einkorn” ancient wheat pasta… unique, the next supergrain?

Popcorn Indiana Whole Trade Cocoa and Cinnamon Kettlecorn — extremely unique and delicious

Have you seen some of this new stuff in your local store already? If so, let us know what you think. If not, keep an eye out and give something new a try!

Will you carry the new Tofurky vegan pizzas? I shop at Whole Foods in San Diego, and have not seen them there. Thanks very much for all the wonderful vegan items you do carry.

Have tried the Green Valley plain yogurt and find it tastes better than the other plain yogurt in that the taste is not as tart-also very few grams of sugar which is great for those watching sugar intake. Use it with cinnamon for a great snack and treat!!!!

I LOVE that you're sending out an email announcing "new stuff." I, too, tend to go into my Whole Foods and just get what's on my list (with the addition of a few impulse items). Keep it up!!!!

The addition of Saffron Road is amazing. I have been waiting for hi quality halal entrees for years. Another reason to shop Whole Foods. Impeccable timing on getting it out in time for Ramadan.

I just found the 365 Organic Almondmilk last week, and I was so excited! Not only is it less expensive, it is organic, unlike the other brand I had been buying. I always look for and buy the 365 brand whenever possible. Thank you!

Thank you for carrying HALAL products. Whole Foods is my number one choice for produce and all! My only gripe is that the nearest store is about 20 miles away!! Consider opening a store in North Orange County,California. In the Fullerton, La Habra area. I'm PTA President at my son's school. It comes up time and time again at PTA meetings that we all wish for a Whole Foods near us! Or a Trader Joe's. So, here is a huge market waiting for a store. Liked the lunch box school reminder on healthier choices for lunch.

Peace and blessings. What a win-win situation! The best quality of meat & ingregients possible teaming up with one of, if not the best, organic/natural market chains around! Now, what would truly make this a continuous winning Dynasty, would be to have Halal/Zabihah/Tayyib meat and poultry there as well. But, you have to crawl before you can walk. @Cathy Cathy, Unfortunately, tofurkey does not come in a gluten-free form. For those eating a gluten-free vegetarian diet, we suggest serving a loaf with vegan gravy for a holiday entrée. Here are a couple of suggestions for you: Celebration Lentil Loaf http://www.wholefoodsmarket.com/recipes/2808 Quinoa Loaf http://www.wholefoodsmarket.com/recipes/2672 We have an extensive selection of gluten-free holiday recipes here: http://www.wholefoodsmarket.com/holidays/recipes/glutenfree.php Many of these are vegetarian as well. I think these make a wonderfully celebratory presentation: Wild Rice Stuffed Mini Pumpkins Hope this helps!
