USA Wild-Caught Atlantic White Shrimp on Sale This Friday Only

By Jennifer Cheng, October 11, 2011  |  Meet the Blogger  |  More Posts by Jennifer Cheng
Want to know the best-kept secret in seafood? They’re wild-caught Atlantic white shrimp and they’ll be on sale this Friday for $7.99 per pound. It’s a one day only sale, so make sure you stop by on Friday, October 14th to pick up your share of shell-on, raw white shrimp! (Some stores may have a 10-pound limit.) These sweet, tender 26/30 count (large) shrimp are so good that you’ll have a hard time keeping their deliciousness a secret. Caught by US shrimpers at the peak of the season and frozen within hours of catch, we don’t allow sulfites and phosphate preservatives so that you can enjoy the naturally sweet taste of the shrimp. These truly special shrimp are only available in the fall, so make sure you get them while they’re here to make the perfect fall meal. For shrimp inspiration, I turn to a favorite movie quote that you may recognize: “Shrimp is the fruit of the sea. You can barbecue it, boil it, broil it, bake it, sauté it. There’s shrimp kabobs, shrimp creole, shrimp gumbo. Pan-fried, deep-fried, stir-fried. There’s pineapple shrimp, lemon shrimp, coconut shrimp, pepper shrimp, shrimp soup, shrimp stew, shrimp salad, shrimp and potatoes, shrimp burger, shrimp sandwich. That’s…that’s about it.” – Bubba, Forrest Gump That’s a pretty comprehensive list, but he left out my personal favorite, the classic shrimp cocktail (with a cocktail sauce heavy on the horseradish). We’ve got some recipe suggestions for shrimp here, too. If you love shrimp as much as Bubba and I do, let us know your favorite way to enjoy shrimp. And don’t forget to stop by this Friday to pick up some USA wild-caught Atlantic white shrimp!

@Catherine I would love to be able to answer these questions for you but since each store gets their Atlantic shrimp from independent fisheries the best way to get the most accurate information is to reach out to them directly. The link below will help you identify the contact information for your community's Whole Foods Market where a Team Member from Seafood will be happy to share this information with you.
