My yummy beach foods are slicing up apples, peaches, oranges, apricots and bananas add some grapes and cherries then I put each in separate zip lock bags and freeze. I also bring baby carrots, cut celery sticks, a jar of peanut butter and those wrapped cheese sticks too. Pop everything in a cooler with some bottled water and by the time everybody is hungry the fruit is perfectly thawed and ready to munch.

I LOVE s'mores at the beach. We normally go camping in the outer banks during the summer, and have nightime bonfires - s'mores are a MUST.

My favorite food to bing to the beach is a BLT. It is ot just any BLT but made with home made bread, home cured bacon and tomatos from the garden. I like to wash it down with a couple of microbeers. It does not get any better than that.

After I pack plenty of sunblock and aloe, I LOVE lemonade, a good fruity white wine, beer for the hubby and wrap sandwiches. Kettle chips and fruit, especially watermelon to snack on during the day. We also pack plenty of nuts - we love almonds, sunflower seeds, etc.

I would take this basket of goodies and pack up the kids and head to the closest beach, which would be Standley Lake for us!

I would bring some home-made mango salsa with crunchy tortilla chips. Home-made chicken salad with pecans and grapes and soft tortillas to at it with. Tortilla's make the best edible plates and silverware. For something sweet, I would make a pan of decadent dark chocolate brownies. I also bring along a frisbee and some softball mitts and maybe some bubbles. Lets go!!

Water play takes a lot out of us so it's crucial to re-energize during the day. Fresh chicken salad sandwiches on whole grain bread, grapes, trail mix, cranberry juice and plenty of water are essential for any beach outing.

For a day at the beach I always include chilled summer fruits-cut up, of course- with a nice loaf of bread and several cheeses. Fresh lemonade amped up with some frozen raspberries, peaches or strawberries to use as ice cubes keep us hydrated. Plain water works well with the frozen fruit as ice cubes too.Snacks need to include some proteins to keep our energy up but have to be light enough to be appetizing on a hot day. A veggie salad with TVP or tofu works well and isn't a danger if it isn't super cold like chicken or tuna salad though if I have plenty of cooler space I will include them. Alcohol needs to be kept to a minimum until the sun goes down. It dehydrates you. When the sun sets I get out a white wine and fruit spritzer with a dash of sparkling water. All in all, for a day in the water, foods needs to be colourful, cool, and refreshing. Plenty of sunblock ensures that we will have happy memories the next day too.
