Earthlings Unite: Join us as we provide samples store wide related to protecting the planet and sustainable foods. Whole Foods Market is the first retailer to offer green cleaning standards for household cleaners. This is a huge service to our customers, allowing them to make informed choices since the government does not require full disclosure of ingredients on cleaning products.
In addition to our Eco-Scale for household cleaners, we work together with the Global Animal Partnership to help ensure high standards of animal welfare for our meats, and we have the science-based sustainable seafood rating program in partnership with the Monterey Bay Aquarium and Marine Stewardship Council.
Recently we also announced that by 2018, we will require our supplier partners to label products containing GMO ingredients, and we will support them as they transition to sourcing non-GMO ingredients or to clearly labeling products with ingredients containing GMOs as a response to our customers who have consistently asked us for GMO labeling.
