On Wednesday, January 9, 2013, WFM Bethesda will join the other Whole Foods Market stores in Montgomery County and donate 5% of the day’s net sales from all of the five stores to Montgomery Parks’ Community Gardens Program.
Montgomery Parks Community Gardens Program provides Montgomery County residents opportunities to use public space and water to garden an individual plot(s) at low cost. Over 600 gardeners participate in the program. They grow vegetables, flowers and new relationships with people in their neighborhoods, and this makes a positive environmental, economic and aesthetic difference in their communities.
We will be making pine cone bird feeders.
Classes will be have a theme each month with emphasis on nature and our environment. Each class will consist of a craft, guitar sing-a-long and stories pertaining to the class theme and are taught by Celia Cantor ( Ms. Celia), an early childhood educator and music teacher for many years.
