Throughout the week we are transforming our outdoor café to reflect a Southern food tradition. Come ready to meet your neighbor and settle in for a good meal!

Our Fish Fry will include the following: fried cod with tartar sauce, fresh lemons and sliced raw onion. Sides: fireworks coleslaw, white beans hush puppies and drink.

Our Bakery will be serving up Jalapeno-cheddar cornbread if you wanted a slice to add to your meal

The most festive of our Southern Food Fest events! Rain or shine, plan to stop in for some Low Country Shrimp Boil. Live Bluegrass performed by the Doc Holidays from 12-2 PM, so bring the kids for a good time, a round of corn toss and a fresh Beignets made on the spot. Our shrimp boil is an old time favorite - a soup full of shrimp, potatoes, onions and corn on the cob. With a piece of corn bread on the side, it is a perfect lunch or early supper!

You can’t have a Southern Food Fest without celebrating Nashville and “Hot Chicken”. For those that didn’t know, “Hot Chicken,” is a regional fried chicken specialty from Nashville, TN. Traditionally served on a few slices of white bread and a sour pickle to cut the heat. This fired up chicken is meant to knock your socks off! Come give ours a try and tell us what you think. Our menu will include the following: “Hot Chicken” served on white bread with a pickle. Your choice of potato salad or corn on the cob with an ice cold drink!

Jump-start your cooking skills in this relaxed, fun-filled class. We will get you on your cooking feet, teaching you how to use knives skillfully, safely, and efficiently. You will practice proper techniques and timesaving skills for slicing, dicing, and chopping in the most efficient manner and the proper way to sharpen and care for your knives. Students also learn the basics of preparing homemade stocks and vinaigrettes, sautéing, making a pan sauce, and whipping cream. Your mother would be so proud! Students are requested to please bring a chef’s knife to class, but a knife is not required. MENU: Salad with Classic French Vinaigrette & Warm Goat Cheese Croutons; Vegetable Soup with Pistou; Sautéed Chicken Breast with Mushrooms & Pan Sauce; and Pineapple Upside Down Cake with Whipped Cream.

If you haven’t got an Italian mamma to teach you how to make pasta at home, join us for a hands-on experience of the process! Making your own pasta is deeply satisfying, surprisingly easy, and the results are delectable. Students learn the techniques for making a basic pasta dough; using a pasta machine to roll and cut fettuccini, pappardelle, and pasta sheets for ravioli; cutting and filling ravioli; making and shaping gnocchi; and preparing pasta sauces. At the end of class, we’ll sit down to an Italian pasta feast. Students leave with the skills and recipes to make these Italian classics at home. Wines from Italy will be served.
