Throughout the month of September we will be asking for your help to raise money for Whole Kids Foundation. Whole Kids Foundation's mission is to improve children's nutrition and wellness with the goal of ending the childhood obesity epidemic. Through partnerships with innovative organizations, schools and educators Whole Kids Foundation works to provide children access to healthier choices through giving School Garden Grants, helping to install Salad Bars in Schools and providing Nutrition Education & Inspiration for Teachers.
3 schools local to Whole Foods Market in Silver Spring received assistance this year with installing school gardens. Help us to double that number this year!!

Don't let the cold weather stop you from growing food! Part 2 of this class on extending the growing season will focus on simple structures including low tunnels and cold frames (with a hands on demo), cover crops, and garden maintenance. Got electronic equipment or an old computer at home and don’t know what to do with it? We have partnered with E-Revival, LLC to give you the opportunity to recycle it. Come along and drop off your equipment in one of the designated bins on Saturday September 8th and it will be either sent to down line vendors for recycling or donated to non-profits if it still works. It’s a Win-Win… Clean out your unwanted items and help out a non-profit or the environment at the same time.

Monitors, TVs, Printers, CPUs, Modems, Keyboards, Cell Phones, Mainframe, Copiers, Fax Machines, Typewriters, Telephone PBX, CRTs, Laptops, Cables, Terminals, Lab Equipment, VCR's, Stereo and Radio, Test Equipment, Medical Equipment, Toner Cartridges, Inkjet Cartridges, Printer Fusers.

5% of our total store sales will be donated on this day to Class Acts Arts, a local organization that brings interactive performances into the community to strengthen education, stimulate creative self-expression, and inspire a fresh view of the world. Join artist Karen Brown and create a garden collage that will be part of our month long program to celebrate and promote healthy kids, healthy foods and healthy choices. This class is perfect for kids ages 2 and up. Snacks will be served.
