Walter Robb

With a long history in the natural foods business as a retailer and consultant, Walter Robb joined Whole Foods Market in December 1991, when he sold his operating lease to the Company. He opened and operated the Mill Valley store until his promotion to president of the Northern Pacific region in July 1993. Under him, the region grew from two to 17 stores, and four acquisitions were completed during his tenure. As co-president and COO, Walter oversaw the purchasing, marketing, distribution and quality standards teams along with six of the Company’s 12 regions.  Assuming the Co-CEO role in 2010, Walter currently oversees six of Whole Foods Market’s 12 regions and serves on the Whole Planet Foundation Board of Directors.  Walter served two years on the Board of Directors of the Organic Trade Association and currently serves on the advisory board of the Organic Center for Education and Promotion, and is on the Board of Regents for the University of the Pacific.
