Dirty Dogs of Durham beware! The 2012 Annual Community Dog Wash will be held Saturday, September 15th from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm at Bull City Car Wash (1810 W Markham Ave., Durham). This event is sponsored by Whole Foods Market and hosted by Bull City Car Wash. All proceeds benefit the Animal Protection Society of Durham.

For a suggested donation of $15 or more (let’s face it folks, size does matter) the Animal Protection Society of Durham’s volunteers will suds, rinse, and towel dry your furry friend. For an additional donation you can select from one of our spa packages provided by the professional staff of Banfield Pet Hospitals of Durham. These packages include services like: full coat brushing, teeth brushing/breath freshening, nail trimming/grinding, ear cleaning and anal gland cleansing.

Proceeds from the dog wash will support the Animal Protection Society’s work in the Durham community. APS is a non-profit animal rescue organization that manages the Durham County Animal Shelter. Their mission is to educate the public about the humane care of all animals, help stop pet overpopulation through the promotion of spay/neuter programs, and find adoptive homes for the animals in their care. This past year APS provided services to 6,500 stray, homeless and neglected animals.
