Every year, Whole Foods Market stores across the country (and the UK!) dedicate their February and March fundraising efforts to the Whole Planet Foundation, a non-profit devoted to alleviating poverty worldwide thorugh microcredit loans. The Whole Planet Foundation provides grants to microfinance institutions in countiries where Whole Foods Market sources products, who in turn offer microenterprise loan programs, training, and other support to the self-employed poor.
