Happy Hanukkah! It’s that time of year again, when we fry up traditional holiday treats with lots of love and enthusiasm—and absolutely no guilt. Learn how to prepare popular Hanukkah foods from scratch: “almost traditional” latkes (potato pancakes), and sweet, airy sufganiot, which are traditional Israeli-style yeast doughnuts with honey and orange rind, filled with raspberry jam or vanilla custard. Let chef-instructor Lynn Kutner show you how to shape, rise, fry, and fill these delicious doughnuts. We’ll also get creative with latkes, using fresh-grated zucchini, Peruvian blue potatoes, and sweet potatoes. Discover how fun it can be to make Jewish classics for friends and family.
On the Menu: Potato-and-Zucchini Latkes Served with Sour Cream and Apple Sauce; Sufganiot with Custard Cream; Chocolate Glaze.
Instructor: Lynn Kutner, Culinary Instructor and Author, Bountiful Bread and A Pocketful of Pies (Irena Chalmers Cookbooks)
