HimalayaUSA Announces Voluntary Product Recall For Organique by Himalaya® Nourishing Night Cream Batch #S691001 and Batch #S69100 due to possible bacteria staphylococcus aureus contamination

HimalayaUSA® announced it is conducting a voluntary recall of Organique by Himalaya Nourishing Night Cream with batch #S691001 and batch #S691002 effective immediately. This product was distributed nationwide in the U.S. and in Canada. For identification purposes, the product is sold in a cylinder shaped teal bottle with an orange cap. The batch numbers are located on the bottom of the bottle.

    The product being recalled is:

UPC Code Product Description Lot Code

The bacteria staphylococcus aureus and fungus were found present in samples of Nourishing Night Cream batch #S691001 and were traced to the bottle’s pump components, which were supplied by a third party manufacturer. These microbes are found in the environment and are frequently seen as normal flora found on skin, though they may become opportunistic in immunocompromised people or if introduced to broken skin. As there is no way to determine if all pumps used contained these microbes, HimalayaUSA is recalling the entire batch.

Although no microbes were found in batch #S691002, the same pump components may have been used in its manufacturing, so in an abundance of safety, HimalayaUSA is voluntarily recalling this batch, too.

This recall is effective only for the batch numbers indicated and not for any other Nourishing Night Cream batch. The recall was proactively taken by HimalayaUSA immediately upon learning of the presence microbes in the product.

For more information, please contact the vendor at 800-869-4640 or read about the recall on the FDA website.
