Chipotle Chili Bean Dip

The smoky and rich flavor of chipotle chiles gives this dip an unusual and complex taste. Serve with chips, raw vegetables or pita bread.

    Ingredients: 
    • 1 1/2 cup (cooked) chickpeas, drained and rinsed well
    • 2 small chipotle chiles in adobo with juice
    • 2 tablespoons tahini
    • 2 cloves garlic
    • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
    • 1/2 cup water
    • 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
    • 1/2 teaspoon hot sauce or to taste
    • 1 teaspoon sea salt
    • 1 1/2 cup (cooked) no-salt-added black beans, drained and rinsed well

    Method: 

    Place chickpeas, chipotle chilies, tahini, garlic, lemon juice, water, olive oil, hot sauce and salt in the bowl of a food processor fitted with a metal blade. Pulse until the mixture is blended well but is still slightly coarse. Add the black beans and pulse until the beans are combined but still coarse. Serve.
