Creole Style Peel-and-Eat Shrimp

Serves 6 to 8

If you can boil water, then you can make this delicious snack. The secret is to not cook the shrimp too long.

    Ingredients: 
    • 1 pound medium shrimp with shell on
    • Water to cover shrimp
    • 2 tablespoons crab boil or Cajun spice
    • 1 lemon, thinly sliced
    • 1 stalk celery, chopped

    Method: 

    Bring water, crab boil, lemon and celery to a boil. Simmer for five minutes and add shrimp. Return mixture to a boil and simmer shrimp until opaque, approximately 4 to 5 minutes. Immediately remove pan from the stove and leave shrimp in water for 5 minutes to absorb more flavor. Drain, cool slightly.

    Serve with a prepared dipping sauce or mix a spice blend with mayonnaise, lemon juice and horseradish.
