Pineapple Teriyaki Beef

Look for asian stir-fry vegetables, already cut and ready to go, in the frozen foods section. Paired with juicy steak and teriyaki sauce, this is a quick meal to easily prepare on busy week nights. Ingredients with an asterisk (*) are available in the Whole Foods Market Family of Brands.

    Ingredients: 
    • 2 tablespoons canola oil*
    • 2 cloves garlic, crushed
    • 1 pound boneless chuck steak, cut into 1/8-inch slices
    • 2/3 cup prepared low-sodium teriyaki sauce*
    • 1 (20 ounce) can pineapple chunks, with juice
    • 1 1/2 cup frozen asian stir-fry vegetables*
    • 1/2 cup chopped green onions
    • 2 cups frozen cooked jasmine or whole grain brown* rice, prepared according to package directions

    Method: 

    In a large skillet, heat oil over medium high heat; add garlic and sliced steak. Sauté until garlic is golden and meat is seared on the outside. Reduce heat to low; add teriyaki sauce, pineapple and 1/4 cup of its juice. Simmer 10 minutes. Add Asian vegetables and green onions. Cook another 5 to 7 minutes. Serve over prepared rice.
