Refrigerator Pickled Slaw

The flavor of this slaw is reminiscent of Chicago-style hot dogs with the distinct taste of celery seed. It's excellent on a dog or as a tangy side.

Ingredients

    1green and/or red cabbage, very thinly sliced
    1/2red onion, very finely sliced
    1/2English cucumber, halved lengthwise and thinly sliced crosswise
    1 tablespooncelery seed
    2 tablespoonssugar
    1/2 cuprice vinegar
    1/2 teaspoonfine sea salt
    1/4 teaspoonground black pepper
