At Whole Foods Market we give back to the community in many ways, from product donations, to our 5% Community Give Days, Bag Refund Program and Scrip through Great Lakes. Please read on for more information on these programs.
Scrip
In response to the incredible interest we’ve had from our communities for a gift card fundraising program, our non-profit and school customers can now purchase Whole Foods Market gift cards from Great Lakes. Here are the details:
-
Qualifying schools and non-profits can purchase Whole Foods Market cards at a 3% discount
-
There is no cap, so organizations will not visit the site and find “sold-out” messaging
-
To set up a program or purchase cards, simply fill out an enrollment form on Great Lakes website.
Donations
Whole Foods Market has specific guidelines for the organizations we are able to support through donations. In addition to being a 501c3, you must fall must fall into one of the following categories:
Because Whole Foods Market believes in being an active community member, requests from other civic and charitable groups will be considered if the organization is in the immediate vicinity of a store location, meets our core values, and funding is available.
We do not donate foods to individuals, individuals seeking pledges, multiple requests from the same organization or organizations and/or causes. Each approved organization is restricted to one donation per year from any and all Whole Foods Market. Past support of an organization or an event is not a guarantee of future support.

5% Community Give Days
At Whole Foods Market, we are active participants in our community. We are extremely proud of our community involvement and the relationships that we build! Our 5% Community Give Days are one meaningful way we give back to our community. On designated days throughout the year a total of 5% of the day’s net sales are donated to local non-profit organizations. Customers help support our selected organizations just by shopping on these 5% Days.

Every four weeks, Whole Foods Market Bellevue selects non-profits to be beneficiaries for our Bag Refund program. For each bag guests re-use, they can receive a 10 cent deduction off their grocery bill, or they can choose to apply their refund to the benefiting non-profits listed at the register.
