“Living On One” Tour Stops at Lamar
What’s it like living in extreme poverty? In 2010, four U.S. college students spent two months in rural Guatemala to discover firsthand how 1.1 billion people around the world live on only $1 a day. Now, you can get a glimpse of their experience. On Saturday, September 8th, join the filmmakers as they show their documentary, Into Poverty: Living on One Dollar, on the rooftop plaza outdoors. The evening, hosted in part by Whole Foods Market and Whole Planet Foundation, starts with hors d'oeuvres and drinks at 7 p.m., followed by the screening at 8:00 p.m. Admission is free and open to the public. The movie is followed by an after-party at The Rattle Inn (610 Neuces St.), just blocks from Lamar. Watch the trailer here, and learn more about the documentary at livingonone.org.
