Post Thanksgiving Sale

by capitolhill, November 17, 2009 | Permalink

I wanted to let you all know about the 3 day post thanksgiving sale we will be having on the Friday, Saturday and Sunday after Thanksgiving.  I don’t know the product yet but there should be some fantastic deals in there.  We will put out the flyer at the begining of next week so you have it before the holiday or you can stop in and grab a flyer that weekend.

Closed for a day

by capitolhill, November 17, 2009 | Permalink

We will be closed for ONE DAY ONLY on Wednesday, December 2nd.  The remodel crew has some wiring issues to deal with and the electricity to the store will be shut off for about 12 hours.  I am really excited about this.  Not just because we all get an extra day off but because having the power moving well thougout the store should cut our electricity use by a significant amount.  We are also replacing all our lightbulbs with even more efficient CFL’s then we are using now which should cut our wattage use from about 65-70 per bulb to about 5 watts per bulb.  This stores carbon footprint is about to see some serious shrinkage.  YEA!

Thanksgiving

by capitolhill, November 17, 2009 | Permalink

Hey all, just a quick note about Thanksgiving here at Whole Foods Market.  First of all if you have ever been stressed while shopping for the big meal this is where you want to shop.  Besides the usual perks of shopping at a Whole Foods Market store like fantastic customer service and knowledgeable Team Members we have our Red Apron Team Members.  These are the best of the best in holiday specific product knowledge and customer service.  If you have a question about where something is or how to cook something or need help figuring out that recipe you thought you could handle we’re here for you.

If you aren’t a cook but want to have a traditional meal we have that covered too.  You can order a traditional meal with all the fixun’s for 4 or 8 people, or a herb turkey breast dinner for 2, a salmon dinner for 4, a ham dinner for 4, a prime rib dinner for 4 or a vegan dinner for 2.  You can also order sides or pies if you were invited to someones house and need to bring a dish.

You can order your meal, turkey or sides up until the day before Thanksgiving and we will have it ready for you.

If you forget something or your plans change and you need something you didn’t expect we will be open from 7:30am-3pm on Thanksgiving day.

partnership with Art Students League of Denver

by capitolhill, September 14, 2009 | Permalink

The Capitol Hill Whole Foods Market is pleased to announce a new partnership with the Art Students Legue of Denver.

Yesterday we launched our new Free Kids Club series lead by Art Student League of Denver teachers.  They will continue to lead our Kids Club art activity on the second Sunday of every month at 2pm.  Bring your children down to enjoy arts, crafts and snacks while you shop.

On Saturday, September 26th from 1pm-3pm we will have our first Demos and Dialogue class at the Capitol Hill Whole Foods Market.  Demos and Dialogues is a free series that the Art Student League of Denver has been doing at their studios and at Minnengers.  They will continue to do the series at those locations but will add the Capitol Hill Whole Foods Market to their locations.  During this series we will feature one local artist each month.  That artist will come in on the 4th Saturday of the month at 1pm and will do a demonstration of the style or media that they are known for.  They will then lead a Q&A lecture on that style or media.  This Saturday we will be featuring portrait and figure drawing with Andrea Kemp.  Andrea Kemp seeks to create “interesting, thought-provoking works of art” with an intelligent understanding of the subject matter. Kemp was featured in the article “21 Artists 31 and Under to Collect Now” in Southwest Art. Join Andrea for an introduction to portrait and figure drawing, exploring line quality, shapes, values and edges. Andrea will discuss her process, including composition, starting with a drawing and completing the painted piece.

Shop for more than food this Valentine’s Day

by capitolhill, February 5, 2009 | Permalink

Lonely on Valentine’s Day?  You’re not alone.  Shop with us between 5pm and 9pm on Friday the 13th or from 3pm-9pm on Saturday the 14th for more than just food.  When you come into the store choose a bracelet to indicate what you are shopping for (male or female) and then hit the aisles.  You’ll know which shoppers are looking for dinner and which ones are interested in desert.

After you have met that special someone in aisle 6 join us from 6pm-9pm on Saturday the 14th and get to know them better.  We’ll have a live DJ, food and games to break the ice as you get to know each other.

Exciting Changes at Capitol Hill

by capitolhill, February 5, 2009 | Permalink

The Capitol Hill Whole Foods Market is about to start a remodel.  We are so excited for the changes to come.  Some of them you will not see like new floors behind the counters and new refrigeration compressors.  Some changes you will see like a new bulk section, a customer service desk and a new olive bar.

We know there will be some inconveniences for you during the process and for that we sincerely apologize.  We will do everything we can to make this process as smooth as we can for you.  Keep your eye on this blog for the latest information.

Our crews will be putting in the new refrigeration compressors overnight starting on Monday, February 9th.  The next morning we will need some time for the coolers to get cold enough before we can put the products back on the shelf.  Because of this all of our dairy coolers, the prepared foods case, bakery and cheese cases as well as the salad and olive bars and the meat department will be shut down the morning of Tuesday, February 10th until about 2pm.  These cases should reopen by mid afternoon the same day.

Thanks for your understanding during this process.  When we are done you will have more products to choose from and a better, safer store to purchase them in.
