Making Strides for Breast Cancer Team Raises $550 at a Whole Foods Market Wine Tasting

Whole Foods Market, Ann Arbor Saline Road, now offers wine tastings to not-for-profits as a fundrasising program. Our first such wine tasting last week was a resounding success, raising $550 for a Making Strides for Breast Cancer team associated with the Amercian Cancer Society. Whole Foods Market has hundreds of locally produced choices throughout the store. With the arrival of summer, we’ll have an increasingly large selection of locally grown produce. Highlights for this week are Michigan strawberries from Palmyra, and Michigan asparagus from Conklin. Yum….

“Pamper Your Mom” for Mother’s Day

Whole Foods Market Cranbrook Village was super busy today as customers prepared for Mother’s Day. In honor of mother’s, mothers-to-be, and women of all ages, we celebrated with a “Pamper Your Mom” event. Customers loved all the free goodies as well as tasty samples including chocolate, strawberries with sweet cream, king salmon, steak, angel food cake, and much more. There’s still time to enter the “Pamper Your Mom” drawing. Entries will be accepted through 10pm on Sunday, May 10, so if you didn’t get your entry in get, head on over to the store as soon as possible.

Foodies crammed our Whole Lifestyle Center on Saturday to  watch Chef Isabella Nicoletti from Paesano’s Restaurant and Wine Bar create a fabulous Italian meal. She brought her unique and entertaining culinary talents to bear in creating a menu of: Pasta all’ Amatriciana (Spicy Pasta with Pancetta Bacon); Maiale In Crosta (Pepperoncini and Artichoke Crusted Chicken Breast); Insalata di Spinaci e Pinoli (Ricotta, Pinenuts and Spinach Salad); and Semifreddo di Ricotta allo Zenzero (Ginger Ricotta Semi Freddo). These fabulous recipes and many more can be found in her cook book, Perbacco Isabella.  Thank you, Chef Isabella, for a very inspiring afternoon! .
