A very Specialty weekend

by edgewater, January 23, 2009 | Permalink

January 24th and 25th mark a celebration of our Specialty department. We’re holding two free events that are sure to stimulate your senses, or at the very least, make you fall in love with cheeses and pancakes (not together, we promise) all over again.

Come learn which domestic blue cheese you love best
Come discover domestic blues - tell us which one you love most.

Tomorrow, Dana, our Specialty Team Leader, and Mike, our Demo Specialist, will come together to help you explore domestic blue cheeses. From mild and easy going to bold and aggressive, you will find the American blue that best suits your style. You’ll have the opportunity to sample up to five preselected cheeses and to ask the cheese questions you’ve always had.

These mini pancakes will sweeten your Sunday

On the 25th, join us for the return of our Sunday Morning Pancake Breakfasts. Dana and his Specialty team will sample silver dollars straight from the griddle (last time there were reports of Dana flipping - and catching - the hot flapjacks). Stop by from 10:30 am-12:30 pm to enjoy our syrup-topped minis and coffee samples on the side.

The Most Relaxing Way to End a Manic Monday: Mini Organic Manicures

by edgewater, January 22, 2009 | Permalink

We had our first Mini Manicure Session with fellow Edgewater-based Beyond Organics Spa Monday night. It was incredibly snowy and the roads were more than a little icy, but the manicurists were troopers and showed up ready to paint our customers pretty!

Setting the scene

We were excited to work with the new spa: they spent a full year researching organic products and methods to make sure that they could offer their clients the best experience. Our favorite part? For every customer, select tools are brand new and disposable (or you can stash them in your bag for your next appointment) to ensure that the manicures and pedicures are as sanitary as possible.

Our customers were able to relax and watch the snow fall onto the Hudson River outside our store or, as many of us did, pretend that we were on a far away island and that it was really 80 degrees outside.

Stay tuned for our next spa night at Whole Foods Market Edgewater. Can’t wait? Neither can we.
