Packing a Lunch

We know that packing a lunch can save money but sometimes we get sick of the same sandwich day in and day out. Do you have a fun lunch idea for kids or adults? Share it!

My daughter and I just started “bagging” our lunch this week, because we were tired of paying for poor quality food in our workplace cafeterias (and who isn’t??). Turkey sandwiches the first two days were enhanced by buying fresh rolls on Sunday. Today we both had good old fashioned PB&J on whole grain white bread. We also packed yogurt, fresh fruit and little prepackaged cups of mandarin oranges (YUM!!), because if you don’t have an afternoon snack, you are STARVING by the time you get home from work and you don’t want to wait for dinner (evil snacking ensues - eek!). Tonight I will buy Chinese take out and bring left over Chinese for tomorrow - it’s great!! We hope to start “pizza” or other traditions for Fridays in our workplaces avoid one evening of lunchmaking. I find making tomorrow’s lunch RIGHT AFTER THE DINNER DISHES ARE DONE is the best…if you get into the recliner to watch TV you just don’t feel like doing it later. Wish us luck - so far we LOVE “bagging” it!
