We here at Whole Foods Bridgeport are excited for the kick off of Earth Month!  Below you will find an extensive list of the fun events we have lined up in our store for the month of April in honor of Earth Month.  Check back in the days leading up to these events for more detailed information…

April 4th: Focus on Sustainable Seafood; cooking demonstrations and information about our MSC and Farm Raised Seafood.  2-5pm

April 5th: Focus on Grass-fed Beef: Grass-fed beef provides cleaner water, less soil erosion, enhances and maintains landscapes and is lower in fat and higher in omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids than conventional beef.  Taste and learn from 2-5pm.

April 11th: Lower your Carbon Footprint Local Taste Fair.  Five vendors confirmed so far. 12-3pm

April 13th: Visit from ‘Run for One planet.’ Two runners on a year long trek around North America to inspire environmental action will be here to sign people up for the ‘Environmental Action Challenge.’ They’ll run the equivalent of a marathon every day beginning May 4th. 4-6pm

April 18th: Lower your Carbon Footprint; eat one vegetarian meal a week.  Focus on local and organic produce.  2-5pm.

April 18th: Green Cleaning; making your own cleaners at home.  Christine and Megan giving on the floor demo twice that day at 11am and 1pm.

April 19th: Perfect for Prom; green makeovers.  Focus on our Whole Body Department, ‘Teens Turning Green’ products. 1-4pm

April 22nd: Earth Day; 5% of our profits go to ‘Growing Gardens.’  This organization helps families with low incomes start a garden that will provide them with fresh fruits and vegetables.

April 20th-26th: Honey Bee appreciation week.  Burt’s Bees lip balm swap Wednesday, seed planting of plants that attract bees on the weekend, focus on produce that needs bee pollination in order to survive, honey tasting, Haagen Dazs ‘vanilla honey bee’ tasting, honey bee trivia, kids paper bee hunt around the store, and much more.

See you at the store!
