Community Giving

5percentWhole Foods Market Bellingham proudly supports many non-profit organizations in our community and beyond through a charitable giving program that includes 5% Days, monthly register donation coupons, and donations of food for fund raising events.

What exactly is a 5% Day? Whole Foods Market Bellingham donates five percent of a designated day’s net sales to a selected non-profit organization. We give careful consideration to each non-profit that applies for this financial support. Some of the groups we’ve supported over the years include the Charles River Watershed Assn., Northeast Organic Farmers Assn. (NOFA), Women’s Center for Wellness, Share Our Strength/Operation Frontline, The Milk Fund, The Food Allergy Network, and Earth Ltd., to name a few. For more information about 5% Days, please contact rodney.poles@wholefoods.com

Donations

Non-profit organizations that would like to request a donation may complete our Whole Foods Market Donation Application online.

Fill out the form and submit it with  at least 30 days notice. A federal 501c3 letter must accompany your request.

Because we have so many organizations looking for donations, we are unable to meet every request, but will do our best to accommodate you.

The Marketing Team Leader at the Bellingham  store, in charge of community involvement and donations is    Rodney Poles.

In order to be fair and consistent to the many applications that we receive, we do limit one donation per non-profit organization per fiscal year.

What is a Register Donation Coupon?
We help numerous non-profit organizations raise money through donation coupons that are made available at checkout and added to a customer’s order at their request. We typically feature a different organization each month. Some of the groups that we’ve helped over the past year include the Pine Street Inn, Massachusetts Breast Cancer Coalition, Massachusetts Audubon Society, Community Harvest Project, AIDS Walk, Greenlock Therapeutic Riding Center, Why Me, Massachusetts Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (MSPCA), and many, many more. Community Involvement

Whole Foods Market Bellingham has played host to many groups over the years, giving them a rich experience in the world of natural foods. Whether giving tours to Girl Scouts or Brownie Troops earning a nutrition badge or a New Mom’s group wishing to learn more about healthy eating for kids, or even hosting a Supermarket Sweeps special education event for Bellingham Public Schools, we open our doors to the community. We also take our show on the road, making many special appearances at events in a town near you!
