Community Giving
At Whole Foods Market, we are active participants in our community. We are extremely proud of our community involvement and the relationships that we continue to make each month! We have several different donation and community support programs available.
General Donation Requests
Every month we work to support our local community with donations. In most cases, we prefer to support events or organizations that contribute to one or more of the following: education, environment, food, children, sustainable agriculture, organics, or the very local community.
We ask that all donation requests be given an 8 week lead time for planning and coordination. Note: due to the volume of requests we receive, we are unable to respond to you unless we are able to support your group.

Community Support Days
Our Community Support Days are one meaningful way we give back to our community. On designated days throughout the year a total of 5% of the day’s net sales are donated to local non-profit organizations. Customers help support our selected organizations just by shopping on these 5% Days. We award one 5% day each quarter.
Bag Refund Donation Program
This program, also referred to as “Nickels for Non-Profits, rewards our customers who bring their own bags by giving them a 5 cent deduction per bag from their total bill. We then give customers the option of donating their nickel per bag to a local non profit organization. We change the beneficiary organization(s) of Nickels for Non-profits on a quarterly basis, awarding this benefit to one or two organizations for the quarter.
