Community Giving
Donations Overview
For 501(c)3 nonprofit organizations seeking donations for events and sponsorships, please fill out the Donation Request Form found online or in our store. The application must be received at least 8 weeks before the event or pick-up date in order to be considered. All applications are reviewed on a first-come, first-served basis. Because funds are limited, an 8-week out advance submission is required. Although we would like to support every worthwhile cause, due to the volume of applications we receive, it is not possible for Whole Foods Market to fulfill every request. Also, due to the number of requests we receive, only those organizations selected will be notified.
Donate your Dime
A relatively new initiative at Whole Foods Market – Mtn. Brook, this program works alongside our existing Customer Service-led program where everytime you bring in your reusable shopping bags (and they need not be Whole Foods Market bags!), and fill it up with groceries, we’ll give you 10 cents back! That’s right, fill up 10 bags, get 10 cents back for EACH one. The Donate Your Dime program allows customers to donate their 10 cents back to the “Donate your Dime Charity of the Quarter!” As with our 5% Days, this is a grant application process. Please fill out the Donate your Dime Grant Request Form and mail it or leave it at the store for the Customer Service team. Our first recipeint of this grant for the 2010 fiscal year is The Greater Birmingham Humane Society.
Quarterly 5% Days
Our Community 5% Days are one meaningful way we give back to our community. On designated days throughout the year a total of 5% of the day’s net sales are donated to local non-profit organizations. Customers help support our selected organizations just by shopping on these 5% Days.
If you are interested in applying to become a 5% Day recipient, please fill out a 5% Day Application Form available online or at the store.
Past Recipients of Whole Foods Market – Mountain Brook, AL 5% Days Include: Children’s Hospital of Alabama Department of Hematology & Oncology, Hand-In-Paw, The Exceptional Foundation, Children’s Aid Society, The Redmont School in the Waldorf Tradition, The Public Service Committee of the Birmingham Bar Association, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, Jones Valley Urban Farm and Meals on Wheels, to name a few.

Hannah Home Donation Drop-off
Whole Foods Market – Mountain Brook is proud to serve as a donation drop-off site for Hannah Home. Customers are encouraged to donate any unwanted, gently-worn clothing and bring those items (bagged or boxed) to our Hannah Home donation box located next to our receiving dock.
