Supporting our Community

Caring about our community is one of our Core Values at Whole Foods Market. In keeping with this philosophy it is our practice to make contributions to fundraising events held by local non-profit groups in a variety of ways.

Community 5% Days
On designated days four times each year 5% of the day’s net sales are donated to local non-profit organizations. Customers help support our selected organizations just by shopping on these 5% Days.

Download our 5% Day Application or pick one up at our Customer Service Desk. Application deadline each year is September 15. Our Team Members vote on who will be selected at the 5% Day recipients, each year.

Event Specific Donations to Community Non-profit Organizations

Your organization can request support for local events. It is our policy to provide support in the form of product rather than cash sponsorship. In order to be considered for a donation, your organization must be a local non-profit agency that serves the community, and the request must be received at least 5 weeks before your scheduled event. You may either mail the application  back to our store or drop it off in person. We cannot accept faxed or emailed documents. 

You will be contacted in a timely manner if we are able to provide a donation. Due to the volume of applications we receive, we request no phone calls please. Incomplete applications will not be considered.

Store Tours, In-store Events and Courses
Throughout the year we welcome schools and community groups into our store for special tours, meetings and fun samplings of food and drink. Please contact Wendy Geise in the Marketing Department for information and scheduling.
