All events subject to change or cancelation. Please check this website frequently or call ahead (847) 475-9492. All registered participants will receive notification in the event of cancelation, and refunds will be granted when applicable. Please note, if you have paid in advance for a class but can't come, you must call in your cancelation 48 hours in advance. No-shows and late cancelations will not be granted a refund. You must present your receipt for refund; without receipt you may register for another class free of charge.

  Whole Planet Foundation Prosperity Campaign

  The Whole Planet Foundation funds microlending projects throughout the developing world. 100% of donations collected at Whole Foods Market fund microloans to the poorest of the poor, so they can start a simple business to lift themselves and their families out of poverty.

  - A typical microloan is $133

  - Whole Planet Foundation provides microloans to women, who are usually denied credit from banks

  - Many of the products on our shelves also fund the Whole Planet Foundation - look for signs

  - Whole Foods Market covers 100% of the operating and administrative costs of the Whole Planet Foundation, so your donations directly fund microloans

  Micro-bites for Microloans

  1pm-3pm $5 suggested donation

  Stock up for your Red Carpet party (the big award ceremony is February 26) while funding microloans in the developing world. Register at our Whole Planet Foundation area in the Produce department - your entire $5 donation will fund a mircoloan, plus you'll receive a passport to visit every sample station in the store. Check off every station on your passport to be entered to win a movie-lover's gift basket (value $100). The first 25 donors receive a Whole Planet Foundation goodie bag (value $20). No purchase necessary to enter gift basket drawing.

  The Lorax Kids Event

  10am-11am Free

  The world's most popular orange mustache is now on the big screen! Dr. Seuss' The Lorax is an adaptation of the classic tale of a forest creature who shares the enduring power of hope. Stop by the café seating area to make your own mustache from reclaimed materials. The first 10 children (16 and under) to arrive receive 2 tickets to a screening of the animated film Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax. Adult supervision required.

  Chinese Herbs and Their Benefits

  6:30pm Free

  Greg Bell, MSTOM, presents how Chinese herbs are used in traditional Chinese medicine and how current medical research studies are revealing new implications for these age-old remedies. Pre-register at the customer service desk or by calling 847-475-9492.

  Silent Auction to benefit the Whole Planet Foundation

  Our store's team members are passionate about raising money for the Whole Planet Foundation, which funds microloans in the developing world. We've put our talents to good use and will auction off arts, crafts, services, event tickets and gift baskets. Visit the Customer Service desk to view items (auction webpage TBA). Place your bids all week - winners will be notified March 12. 100% of proceeds fund microloans.

• Saturday, March 10th

  The Crack Heard 'Round the World

  2pm

  Visit our Specialty Cheese department as we participate in The Crack Heard 'Round the World - when every Whole Foods Market location across the globe hand-cracks a wheel of Parmigiano-Reggiano at the same time. Taste samples of what is know as the King of Cheeses, enjoy special pricing and wine pairings. While supplies last.

  Passport to Healthy Eating

  Noon-3pm Free

  Eat healthfully and globally! At our last Passport to Healthy Eating event, we introduced you to whole food, plant-based samples throughout the store. This time, our healthy samples feature foods that also help alleviate poverty in the developing world. Sample whole food, plant-based dishes featuring ingredients with our Whole Trade Guarantee, or that participate in our Whole Planet Foundation Supplier Alliance for Microcredit.
