THANK YOU for your support during our 2012 campaign! YOU helped us to exceed our store goal of $15,000! We raised $20,000!

The Whole Planet Foundation exists to support individuals in the developing countries with the assistance of microcredit loans. Whole Foods Market is dedicated to making change in the world, and it can literally start with our spare change!

Whole Foods Market team members support this program in a variety of ways. One of the most unique ways is through the Team Member Volunteer Program. Our own payroll benefits specialist, Beth Savelli, served in Guatemala last year.

BETH SAYS:

” When you take a trip such as the one I took to Guatemala, it is very hard to come back and see anything the same way. You question who you are, and what you do and ask yourself how you can make a change for the better for you, your family and the people you know. We, as Americans, have no idea what it is like to live in such circumstances. You hear about abject poverty; you see photos and you watch it on TV. It is a completely different feeling to experience it first-hand.  You can’t imaging what it looks like to live on less than $2 a day. I have been forever changed by the experience and it is a good thing.”

Involving Team Members in the mission of the Whole Planet Foundation is an opportunity to live out the core values of our company while extending love and compassion to the whole world.

Participating team members are able to share their unique personal experiences with other team members, customers and their friends and families.

Team members are also encouraged to donate via payroll deduction or other creative ways such as fund-raisers, bake sales, raffles and more!

HOW CAN YOU HELP?

• Visit our Whole Planet Information Center and talk to a team member and learn more about the program.
• Make a contribution at the register each time you shop.
•  Enjoy $1 hot dogs every Saturday, all benefitting WPF!
• Drop change in one of our collection canisters
• Buy partner products and know you are also helping others.

Recently, we held a family event called Pasta For the Planet. All proceeds from a delicious, simple pasta and garlic bread dinner supported The Whole Planet Foundation. Thanks to our team members who cooked, served and ate!
