One Dime At A Time-April, May and June: Daubenspeck Nature Park
The two Indiana stores are delighted to support April, May and June’s recipient: Daubenspeck Community Nature Park (DCNP), a rare 22-acre restored native prairie and woods in NW Indianapolis. Free and open to the public, with year-round hiking trails, wetlands, observation deck, educational workshops & events, trail guides & more. All-volunteer non-pr0fit DCNP created this award-winning park with land from public and private land-owners. Funds raised will purchase native plants & trees, replace worn out tools, and rent equipment, to restore habitat & biodiversity, and improve visitor access. 8900 Ditch Road & daubpark.org
Whole Foods Market offers 10¢ per bag to customers who reuse their own bags. Customers can accept their refund, or direct the cashier to donate the cash to the store's chosen non-profit – through the One Dime at a Time program. This program reduces our impact on the environment and supports a local non-profit.
The two Indiana stores are delighted to support January, February & March’s recipient: Art With A Heart. Art With A Heart (AWAH) provides art classes to educate and inspire underserved youth. AWAH classes teach more than just art, integrating other subjects and developing critical thinking skills, positive expression and improving self image. Their success stories demonstrate how art can help at-risk youth become better all round academics and help close the achievement gap in schools. AWAH works with students facing poverty, homelessness, drug addiction and the juvenile justice system. Follow their success on Facebook (Art With A Heart), Twitter (Artwithaheart2), and on their website www.artwithaheart.us
