Community Giving
At Whole Foods Market Framingham, we are active participants in our community. We are proud of our community involvement and the relationships that we continue to make each month! We strive to make a difference.
Our Community 5% Days are one meaningful way we give back to our community. On designated days throughout the year a total of 5% of the day’s net sales are donated to local non-profit organizations. Customers help support our selected organizations just by shopping on these 5% Days.
Donations
Recent non-profit organizations we have supported, either through a donation of food or services, include The Danforth Museum, the Learning Center for the Deaf, the Metro West Humane Society, our local Meals-on-Wheels program, The Healthy Villi, The New England Wild Flower Society at Garden in the Woods, and Framingham’s Summer Concerts on the Green and many others. We seek to support organizations that reflect our own philosophies as a company. Environmental, education, health, local farms, and animal compassion are a few examples.
Besides our commitment to host four 5% Days each year, and direct donations of goods and services, we offer our customers the choice of giving to a local non-profit each month through our Register Coupon program. At checkout tear off a coupon for the month’s non-profit and the amount, usually $2.50 and $5.00, will be added to your groceries and your receipt will reflect your donation. Customers are also able to”buy” “Stop Hunger – Feed Kids Now” bags filled with child and family friendly and healthy foods. Each week the bags go to the Metro West Food Pantry for distribution to the many families the pantry supports.
If your non-profit, 501c3 bearing organization would like to be considered for a donation, please stop by our Customer Service Booth and pick up a Donation Request Form. Please attach a copy of the group’s 501c3 letter of tax exemption and we will review it.
• Donation Request Form (Front)
• Donation Request Form (Back)
Because we receive many donation requests each month, we require that you submit your completed donation form and 501c letter a minimum of 30 days before the date of the event. Submission of a Donation Request does not guarantee a donation will be given.
Community Involvement
Do not be surprised if you see us at local events such as health fairs, health and wellness days at schools, and farmer’s markets. It is our way of reaching out and talking to members of our community. We are also happy to give store tours to any group that would like one. Some of the groups we have had in for a tour of the store and the story of what makes our store like no other store in the area are scout groups, students learning about organic foods, as well as support groups from nearby medical facilities.
