Meet Tom Neal, Store Team Leader* of the Glastonbury store *That’s like General Manager

Tom Neal has been the Store Team Leader in Glastonbury for two and a half years. Before that he and his family moved to West Hartford in 2005 to help open the first WFM in the Hartford area. Tom has worked for WFM for over 20 years, starting in the seafood department in Cambridge, MA. He’s worked on both coasts including a stint as the regional seafood coordinator in Northern California where he remembers very early mornings meeting the boats (and seals) near Fisherman’s Wharf in San Francisco. Tom grew up outside of Boston and has fond memories of stopping at local “truck” farms for daily produce during the summer and fall. “It’s one of the things I love about Glastonbury, all the great farms and bountiful produce.” Tom is passionate about local food, great customer service, and “being a positive force in the community”. A long time Red Sox fan he is married with two daughters in grade school, both of whom remind him to keep recycling and have raised money for the local Audubon Society. Meet Katie Joy, Whole Foods Market Glastonbury’s Culinary Specialist!

My cooking style is all about simplicity! If I can do it, then you can too. I enjoy using a few ingredients to create a great meal and using shortcuts in products and prep time to make a fast meal for the family on the go. I love food and the way it brings people together, whether it’s preparing a meal at home or gathering old friends around a table. My favorite part of the culinary specialist position is getting customers to try new things. Helping customers with new recipes and ingredients, so they can go home and make a new meal is very exciting and rewarding. I truly love Whole Foods Market because we believe in what we sell.
