Community Giving

Whole Foods Market is a company with a conscience. We believe passionately in supporting the communities we serve. As the world’s leading natural and organic foods supermarket, we are committed to each community where we have put down roots, and we support local causes that are important to our friends and neighbors.
Some of the ways we support the Upstate Community include:
5% Days
Our 5% Days are another meaningful way we give back to our community. On designated days throughout the year a total of 5% of the day’s net sales are donated to local non-profit organizations. We work closely with the benefiting organizations to promote them through their resources (newsletters, public service announcements, direct mailings, website links, etc) in conjunction with our own. You can support these organizations simply by shopping for groceries on our designated 5% Days.
Download our 5% Day application (PDF) or pick one up at the Customer Service counter.
ABOUT OUR DONATE YOUR DIMES PROGRAM
This program is designed to reduce our impact on the environment while supporting local nonprofit groups. If customers choose to donate their dimes over a 10 cent bag refund, the 10 cents will go toward the featured nonprofit. At the completion of each quarter, Whole Foods Market issues a check to the designated nonprofit groups for the total amount raised “dime for dime.” This program is primarily designed to bring attention and exposure to small, but meaningful organizations in our local communities. Through this program, selected organizations are provided with a platform for communicating their mission and contact information to our customers.
Donations & Sponsorships
Whole Foods Market also contributes to a number of community events, student groups, fundraisers and organizations all year long through donations and sponsorships. Donation Request forms are available here or at the Customer Service counter and must be filled out entirely and returned to the store’s Marketing Team at least 6 weeks prior to the date for which the request is being made.
