  • J’s Gouramaze:  J’s Gouramaze Fine Foods and Baked Goods was founded in 1995 by Chef/Baker Jay Howard, a former stage magician. His passion for cooking and entertaining was augmented by his mother Estelle who taught him to bake her treasured recipes including the all but forgotten art of making knishes in the true Eastern European tradition with a paper thin, hand rolled stretch dough surrounding over 20 savory and sweet fillings. Other popular items include Brookie’s Cookies Kamish Bread Biscottis and European Style Rugelach Rolled Pastries, Specialty Loaf Cakes, Apple-Cadabra Coffee Cake Swirls, and more.  Everything at J’s Gouramaze, located in the West Oak Lane section of Philadelphia at Cheltenham Ave. and Broad Street, is made by hand and “from scratch” by Jay, his daughter Brookelyn Rose, who is now forging ahead with her own singing/songwriting career, and other devoted family members using fresh and local quality ingredients and lots of love without any preservatives.  Taste the Magic today and enjoy The “Ate” Wonders of the World from J’s Gouramaze!
