Our Kensington home is the largest of our five London shops, which means that we can offer you more of the things that we love. Whether it be the dozens of regional cheeses in our unique cheese room; our handmade chocolates; meat from our 75ft butchers’ counter; fresh fish prepared by skilled fishmongers; or our own private label Fresh and Wild Everyday Value range which promises you the quality foods you need everyday, at everyday prices so you can shop on a budget without leaving your values on the shelf.
Our producers share our commitment to great tasting food that is fresh, wholesome and safe to eat. We seek out and promote organically grown foods, as well as feature foods that are free of artificial preservatives, colours, flavours, sweeteners and hydrogenated fats.
We even make the time to trim our fresh produce in store. This means that you get the very freshest fruit and Vegetables ready to go and we can recycle the bits that would normally be throw away and turn them into green electricity.
Many of our products come from small family farms or enterprising producers which began as one person with a great idea. We love working with these passionate people. You can read about them in our Meet Your Producer signage throughout the shop, or even meet them and sample their produce when they come to visit.
Our Team Members work in small knowledgeable teams (Bakery, Fishmongers, Butchers, Greengrocers, Grocery, Whole Body Clinic and Natural Remedies, Freshly Prepared Foods and Speciality (that’s cheese, charcuterie and wine). So if you want expert advice don’t be afraid to ask, or look out for our team members ‘I Love This‘ favourites on the shelves.
We make a lot of our products daily in-store. Upstairs in our Market Restaurant you can enjoy freshly prepared foods such as pizza, sushi, salads, gelato and waffles, all freshly made by our specialist chefs. Next time you’re visiting, follow the irresistible smell of fresh bread to where our bakers make our bread from scratch each day. They bake in small batches, according to customer demand, which is why there’s usually a sack or two of flour beneath the wooden serving table.
We enjoy being part of the Kensington community and are pleased to be able to support local charities such as Teenage Cancer Trust, The Upper room, The Chiswick House Kitchen Garden and Look Ahead Housing and Care.
But most of all we enjoy meeting you, our customers. Which is why we display your comments (and our personal replies) on our notice board, why we deliver to your door, and why we organise special events in-store such as wine tastings, and Mummies’ Mornings, so we can get to know each other better. We’ve now added free WI-FI for your use in the first floor!
