Community Giving

COMMUNITY CHEST

The CommUnity Chest offers our guests a chance to give back to the community. When you reuse your own bag, you can take a bag discount or donate the 10¢ to a local organization. These organizations receive the funds raised through out a 3 month period.

If you are interested in becoming a recipient of the CommUnity Chest, download the application PDF HERE and email it to   pnkitdonations at wholefoods.com   All applications are kept & considered for one year.

All requests must meet all of the following criteria: the organization involves our local community, the organization must be registered as a non-profit society in Canada, & the request must provide a direct services to one or more of the following: environmental preservation, preventative health care, hunger relief, organic farming, animal compassion, community, and education in these target areas.

COMMUNITY DONATIONS & SPONSORSHIPS

At Whole Foods Market, we are active participants in our community. We are extremely proud of our community involvement and the relationships that we continue to make each month! We strive to make a difference.

If you are interested in receiving a contribution from Whole Foods Market Kitsilano, here are the necessary steps:

  • Download the Donation Request PDF HERE.
  • Ensure that the form is filled out completely, including your organizations charitable business number. Incomplete forms will not be considered
  • Email the form to  pnkitdonations at wholefoods.com or drop it off to the store closest to your organization or event at least 8 weeks prior to your event. Short dated applications can not be processed.

Our 5% CommUnity Support Days are another meaningful way we give back to our community. On designated days throughout the year a total of 5% of the day’s net sales are donated to local non-profit organizations. Customers help support our selected organizations just by shopping on these 5% Days. If you would like to apply as a 5% Day recipient, you can download an application PDF HERE.  Once it is complete, email it to   pnkitdonations@wholefoods.com .
