Community Partners
HUB (formerly the Vancouver Area Cycling Coalition) is a non-profit society established in 1998 to address cycling issues in the Metro Vancouver. Since then, we’ve grown a lot! We’ve educated thousands of children and adults, motivated thousands more, and advocated for improvements that will benefit folks that aren’t on a bike yet.
The AIDS Vancouver Grocery Program aims to address food security issues that their clients experience by providing over 16,000 supplemental grocery bags to approximately 1200 clients annually. Read more about the program HERE.
Healthy Eaters and Leaders (HEAL) summer camps, offered by the Vancouver School Board’s West 1 Community Schools Team, truly is a nutrition education extravaganza for kids. Besides going on exciting out-trips each week, children learn how to grow food through an on-site food garden and compost. They not only learn how to prepare healthy meals through hands-on cooking lessons each day, but they also get to enjoy the meals they create each day at lunch. HEAL campers learn that mealtime is a time to appreciate the food on their plate and the friends at their table. HEAL’s daily activities promote the principles of healthy eating and physical activity while emphasizing food security, nutrition, and environmental leadership among young people.
