This is the year for….
We all want to start our year off right.
We make resolutions, we go on diets, we write declarations for how we’re going to make plans to be a whole new person. But how often do you hear of a fulfilled resolution? Don’t most of us frequently give up on our resolutions by March, when the cold weather has gotten us so down that we’re forced to eat that extra brownie, the donuts for breakfast and skipping the gym for the 5th time this week?
But enough of that. Failed resolutions no more. Let this be the year to fulfill our resolutions.
How, you ask? Simple. Make simple resolutions. Simplicity is key to continuity. You’re more likely to keep up with simple and feasible tasks than to do something big. You would spend more time dreading it than anything else. Get back to the basics and set your goals realistically and based off what’s important. Instead of “I’m going on a diet” which can be a vague and sightless resolution where you plan on going on a master cleanse, going to the gym 7 days a week and never eating junk food, simplify by saying “I will cut french fries from my diet”. That way, even if you find yourself out with your friends late one night with no other options but fast food, you can still stay true to yourself and enjoy a hamburger, no fries.
Give yourself a time frame.
Start your year off by giving this resolution a try: “I will fit leafy greens into my diet for the entire month of January”. Then come to Whole Foods for our Leafy Greens month and pick up a few recipes for you to try at home. We’ll do the thinking for you, and you can rest easy knowing that you’re satisfying a New Years Resolution simply by shopping at Whole Foods Market. How easy is that? Simple, healthful, and stress-free. That’s a good start to any year.
If I have any long standing health nuts reading this, I invite you to feel free to comment and share a recipes and tips for others who are looking to start their own healthy lifestyle with leafy greens and stop by the store to try some of ours.
Happy holidays everyone, and healthy eating to all!
