CFLs use 75% less energy and can save your household $ 139 over the lifetime of each bulb. Not only do CFLs save energy and money, they also help to reduce Hawaii’s dependence on imported fossil fuels.
About Blue Planet: By working with school and community groups statewide, Blue Planet has implemented several highly successful energy efficiency projects. The C.F.L. program alone has replaced nearly 300,000 incandescent light bulbs with CFLS, saving Hawaii residents more than $40 million dollars in energy savings while displacing 190,000 barrels of oil over the lifetime of the bulbs.

More about Hawaii Animal Rescue Foundation (HARF): is a group of volunteer animal lovers whose mission is to rescue, provide sanctuary, and ultimately to re-home abandoned, stray and neglected animals.
Currently HARF provides numerous animal-welfare services to the residents of Hawaii, including:
- Pet adoptions
- Re-homing programs
- Off island relocation services
- Foster care programs for animals with special needs
- Volunteer opportunities Services and programs will increase as the organization expands
- HARF partners with other animal welfare organizations to bring healthy, adoptable animals to us, helping to lessen the homeless pet overpopulation that plagues our islands.
- Ten percent of the animals we receive are owner surrenders and 90 percent are transferred from other organizations filled to capacity
