At Whole Foods Market Noe Valley, we are active participants in our community. We are extremely proud of our community involvement and the relationships that we continue to make each month through our Nickels for Non-profits program, sponsorships & donations, SCRIP, and Community 5% Days.
Nickels for Non-profits
Our 3 Nickels for Non-profits recipients through April 8th are:
Hayes Valley Farm- Hayes Valley Farm is an Urban Permaculture demonstration site in San Francisco. It is a 2.2-acre non-profit community-run farm and urban agriculture education and research project located in the heart of the city of San Francisco. http://www.hayesvalleyfarm.com/
Arriba Juntos- Arriba Juntos is a non-profit employment and training organization, dedicated to promoting economic self-sufficiency for San Franciscans and their families through occupational training and employment opportunities. Every year they assist and support hundreds of families and individuals through occupational trainings, employment and supportive services. The preparation and support they provide help clients move from a state of dependency into a high level of productivity by advancing their educational and professional prospects. http://www.arribajuntos.org/
Muttville- Muttville is a non-profit, 501(c)3 organization dedicated to improving the lives of senior dogs. Muttville’s mission is to change the way the world thinks about and treats older dogs and to create better lives for them through rescue, foster, adoption and hospice. Through associations with shelters and other animal organizations, Muttville finds senior dogs that have been given up and finds them new homes or gives them hospice. http://www.muttville.org/

Sponsorships & Donations
Each month, Whole Foods Market Noe Valley is pleased to sponsor several non-profit organizations as our way of giving back to those that help make our community better. If you belong to a non-profit group that fits with Whole Foods’ mission and have a specific event or program that needs sponsorship, please apply here to be considered. Due to the volume of requests we receive, we may not be able to fulfill every donation request and respond to every application. Donation requests must be received at least 4-6 weeks prior to the date of the event for consideration. If you have missed the deadline, please consider us for future donations.
SCRIP
Scrip may be purchased in $1000 increments; your organization will receive a 4% discount on the purchase. Our scrip is available on gift cards in the following denominations ($10, $25, $50, $100). It is not necessary to spend the entire amount on the card in one purchase – your balance will remain on the card for future use. Our scrip is redeemable at all Whole Foods Markets across the nation. Please write to Liz.Rowland@WholeFoods.com to inquire about purchasing SCRIP for local schools. Please keep in mind that SCRIP can take a few weeks to process.
Community 5% Days
This is one meaningful way we give back to our community. On designated days throughout the year a total of 5% of the day’s net sales are donated to local non-profit organizations.
