Community Giving

Whole Foods Market is a company with a conscience.  We believe passionately in supporting the communities we serve.  On a local basis, we are actively involved in our communities by supporting local food banks with daily donations, sponsoring neighborhood events and organizations and by our donations of goods and services to local 501(c)3 not-for-profit organizations. 

Donations

We offer various donations to 501(c)3 organizations to help meet their needs and goals.  To request a donation, please follow these steps:

1.  Download Whole Foods Market at Halsted and Waveland’s Donation Application

2.  Review the application and confirm that you meet all the requirements

3.  Complete and submit the Donation Application to Zachary Connelly, In-Store Marketing and Community Relations Specialist, at least 6 weeks prior to the date you need the donation

Donation applications may be mailed to: Zachary Connelly, Whole Foods Market, 3640 N. Halsted, Chicago, IL, 60613.  You may also submit an application electronically to zachary.connelly@wholefoods.com.  Please be advised that we do not accept faxes.  Due to the large volume of requests we receive, we unfortunately cannot honor every request,  and will only contact you if we can provide a donation for your organization.

We do not donate to individuals, individuals seeking pledges, multiple requests from the same organization, or organizations and/or causes outside of Chicago city limits.

One Dime at a Time

Whole Foods Market at Halsted and Waveland is proud to be a part of the One Dime at a Time program!  When our customers bring back their own bags to be re-used to pack up their order, we give them a dime back for each bag that is used.  Our One Dime at a Time program gives customers the option of donating their $0.10 bag refund to a designated non-profit organization.  Together, we can make a difference One Dime at a Time.

To be considered for the One Dime at a Time program, please download Whole Foods Market at Halsted and Waveland’s One Dime at a Time Application, complete, and mail to: Zachary Connelly, Whole Foods Market, 3640 N. Halsted, Chicago, IL, 60613.  You may also submit the application electronically to zachary.connelly@wholefoods.com.

Community 5% Days

Our Community 5% Days are one meaningful way we give back to our community.  Once a quarter we select a 501(c)(3) organization to be a recipient of our community support day.  The day consists of in-store events, educational tables, demos, and ends with five percent of the day’s net sales being donated to the benefiting organization.  Customers help support our selected organizations just by shopping on these days.
