At Whole Foods Market Northbrook, we are active participants in our community. We are extremely proud of our community involvement and the relationships we continue to make every day! We strive to make a difference.
ONE DIME AT A TIME
Bring in your own grocery bag and donate your ten cent refund to Whole Planet Foundation. The Whole Planet Foundation represents a significant expansion of Whole Foods Market’s mission to actively participate in our communities. Whole Planet Foundation‘s mission is to create economic partnerships with the poor in those developing-world communities that supply our stores with product. Through innovative assistance for entrepreneurship – including direct microcredit loans and tangible support for other community partnership projects – we seek to unleash the energy and creativity of every human being we work with in order to create wealth and prosperity in emerging economies.
Community Support Days
Community Support Days are one meaningful way we give back to our community. On designated days throughout the year, 5 percent of the day’s net sales are donated to local non-profit organizations. Customers help support our selected organizations just by shopping on these 5% Days. Participating organizations must have 501(c)(3) status.
Monthly Donations
Each month, our Team Members choose non-profit organizations to receive support through food or gift basket donations. These donations typically go toward assisting the organization’s fundraising efforts. Because we involve our Team Members in the decision-making process, we require all donation applications be submitted at least 6 weeks prior to the event date.
Gift Card Fundraising
Our gift card program allows non-profit organizations to purchase gift cards for 95% of their total cost, sell them for 100% of the original cost, and keep 5% to benefit their programs. Participating organizations must have 501(c)(3) status.
