Community Giving
Whole Foods Market is a company with a conscience and we believe passionately in supporting the communities we serve. We are extremely proud of our community involvement and the relationships that we continue to make each month! We are actively involved in the Omaha area community by:
- Supporting local food banks: We donate perishable and non-perishable items seven days a week to The Food Bank in Omaha or Girls Inc.
- Sponsoring neighborhood organizations and events, including Summer Arts Festival, Omaha Children’s Museum, Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo, Lauritzen Gardens, Earth Day Omaha, Joslyn Art Museum, Fontenelle Nature Association, and many more.
- Donating to 501(c)3 not-for-profit organizations
- Educating kids and adults with free tours of our store: Call 402.393.1200 for more information and to schedule a tour.
- Offering informative classes: Check out our calendar of events for a list of classes.
- Hosting cooking classes for adults and children: Check out our calendar of events for a list of classes.
Our 5% Community Support Days are another meaningful way we give back to our community. On designated days throughout the year a total of 5% of the day’s net sales are donated to local non-profit organizations. Customers help support our selected organizations just by shopping on these 5% Days.
Whole Foods Market will promote your organization’s 5% Day in our monthly event calendar. To be a 5% Day beneficiary, you must provide a staffed information booth on the designated day. We encourage you to promote the day through your organization. Past beneficiaries have utilized press releases and other forms of promotion to maximize their donation. Download our application.

Meeting Space
Are you looking for a place to hold your next meeting? Our Lifestyle Center accommodates about 20 people and features a TV that can be hooked up to your own laptop for Power Point presentations. This room is also great for small receptions, business meetings, team builds and other gatherings. Availability permitting and during store business hours, 501c3 non-profit organizations can hold meetings in our Lifestyle Center for free. Community groups can also rent the classroom for a nominal fee. When we provide space for groups to use – whether in our café or in our classroom – we kindly ask that all food and beverages must come from our store. Please call (402) 393-1200 and ask for Marketing for information, to check availability and to make reservations.
