Smart Farm

Learn, Grow & Share
The Smart Farm is an educational garden for the Barrington area and nearby communities. Adults, children, and students learn about their agricultural heritage, organic gardening, the slow food movement, and best practices for living “green,” sustainable lives.

Summer 2010
Over 300 pounds of produce was produced by the Whole Foods Market portion of the garden plot and donated to the Cuba Township Food Pantry in Barrington.

Cork Reharvest

Ever feel guilty about tossing a wine cork into the trash? You should!  But not anymore. Cork is a renewable, recyclable material that doesn’t belong in our landfills. What to do? Bring your corks to our specialty department, drop them in the handy Cork ReHarvest boxes and feel good again!

Reduce. Reuse. Recycle. Now you can recycle yogurt cups and other #5 plastics items at our store’s Preserve Gimme 5 Recycle Bin located in our front vestibule near the checkout.

Just bring in your clean #5 plastic, drop it in the bin and together we will save thousands of pounds of #5 plastics from going to our landfills.
