You will learn how to make your own Raw Nut and seed milks as well as superfood cereals to serve your milk over. Learn how easy and delicious it is to make your own nutrient-rich raw milks for any occasion. Save money and regain nutrients by making your own cereal and granolas filled with superfoods. Bonus: sample raw cookies made from the left over milk pulp.

Cooking Bangladeshi/Indian dishes with Aleya

Learn to cook traditional exquisite dishes from Bangladesh/India with Aleya.

Bengal is made up of the Indian state of West Bengal and the country of Bangladesh (formerly East Bengal). Bengali cooking includes rice, fish, meat, and vegetables with many different aromatic spices. Learn how you can take this epicurean journey to Bengal cooking and make this your dinner choice. It’s easy and light cooking.
The class will end with a sumptuous dinner!!

Aleya Ikbal has more than 20 years of experience with Bengali/Indian cooking. Her cooking is the culmination of Bengal traditions passed down the generations from her mother and grandmothers. Her dishes have been featured in Real Simple magazine. Over the years she has transformed the traditional Bengali cooking into her own style that have delighted many Seattleites.

Cooking Gourmet with Chef Paul Entrée Made Simple

Learn how to prepare dinner for two, making it easy to please your spouse or friends with a delicious meal prepared in just a few hours. Tonight’s menu is perfect for a night out even a birthday party. You will be able to make a complete dinner from start to finish, and be very proud of your self for making soup, salad, entrées, and vegetables like one of the fine restaurants downtown. At the end of the class you will receive recipes for the dishes you helped prepare. It’s a fun evening of learning and eating all of these delicious recipes.

Pregnancy Nutrition
1:00 PM - 3:30 PM | $30

Come learn what are the best foods for nourishing you and your little one developing inside you.  We’ll talk about nutrition from the start of conception through delivery, and, what is best to eat during each stage of pregnancy and why.  You will take home handouts with information on what the most imporant nutrients are to support the healthy development of your baby and in what foods these nutrients are found.  You’ll also learn why eating well can not only result in the best outcome for your baby but for you and your delivery and recovery as well.

This class will include a dinner of delicious and nutritious foods great for the pregnant mother:  poached salmon with pesto, herbed quinoa, chopped greens salad with sun-dried tomato vinagrette and orange/ginger sauce topped dairy free ice-cream (foods all gluten free).

 

Aimee is a licensed nutritionist with a true passion for food!  She enjoys growing it , preparing it, sharing it and especially teaching about its profound role in the health of the body.  Her education includes a whole foods Nutrition and Dietetics degree from Bastyr University and a Masters in Nutrition Education from Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science.  Aimee takes a holistic approach to healing or disease proofing the body through optimal nutrition in her private consulting practice in Fremont. www.thrivingnutrition.com.

Summer Kids Camp: Culture Thru The Kitchen
12:00 PM - 4:00 PM | $400

Take a trip around the world this summer. Each day we’ll travel to a new destination. First stop Mexico! South of the border, your chefs to be will learn how to make all of the recipes for a feisty fiesta! Tuesday is for Thailand, where we will be making the classics such as Pad Thai and sticky rice pudding. Wednesday we will make our way to England! For an afternoon filled with homemade biscuits and tea lattes. Thursday will take us to Greece for a greek extravaganza! Here we will be making some favorites like falafel and hummus. Friday we’ll conclude the trip by coming back home with burgers, fries and a homemade ice cream party with all the fix ins. So get your tickets now because the kitchen’s ready to take off!

What to expect:
Basic culinary skills, nutritional value, fun facts about world cuisine and what role food plays in different countries. Students will walk away with kitchen confidence, knowledge about food in other countries, a recipe book, and most importantly fun times and full stomachs!

Cooking School Registration Guide

Guests can register for classes during our regular business hours from 7am to 10pm daily in person at our guest services desk or by calling a guest services team member at (206) 985-1500. Over the phone reservations can be made with an accepted credit card. Payment for classes is required at the time of registration. We require 24 hour advance notice of cancellation for full refund.  Cooking class gift certificates are available.
