Community Giving

General Donation Requests

In order to be considered for a donation from Whole Foods Market Santa Monica, your organization must have a 501 C (3) designation from the IRS stating that you are a non-profit organization.  Please submit this letter/form with your donation request.  Without this letter/form we cannot process your request. This letter will show your Tax I.D. number.

To request a donation, it is preferred that organizations use our Online Donation Application.  We ask that completed forms be submitted 5-6 weeks in advance and while submitting an application is a necessary step in the process, it is not a guarantee that a donation request will be granted.

Follow these guidelines regarding a donation request.

1. Attach a copy of the IRS 501 C (3) Authorization Letter, mentioned in the first paragraph. This letter can usually be obtained from your admin or bookkeeping department.
2. Please make your request at least five to six weeks prior to the date of the event or the date that the donation is needed.
3. Requests must use the Online Donation Application.
4. This request MUST include the following:

• What event the donation request is for?
• Where & what date will the event take place?
• What are the name(s), phone number(s), and email address(s) of the contact person(s)?
• What you would like donated? (a gift card, a gift basket, or product)
• What recognition can you give Whole Foods Market for assisting in your fund raising efforts?

Please note that we obtain a very large amount of requests and we do not have a budget to address all of them.  Once we have received your paper work and reviewed your request, we will get back to you to obtain any other needed information or to move ahead with the donation process.  Thank you for your understanding!

Community 5% Days

Our Community Support Days are one meaningful way that we give back to our community.  On designated days throughout the year, a total of 5% of the day’s net sales are donated to selected local non-profit organizations that we have partnered with. Customers help support our selected organizations by simply shopping on these 5% days.  If you are interested in our 5% day, please email  sp.smc.marketing@wholefoods.com  for a copy of our application.
